Ford Mustang 289 Cabriolet

This Car released in 1964, the Ford Mustang aimed to take the car market by storm with a product that offered performance and personality to the masses. Thought by its creators as the American VW Beetle, the large variety of engine and optional features allowed for each customer to create his perfect Mustang.

For the 1967 model-year, the Mustang received its first redesign. While the overall lines remained unchanged, it seemed as every detail had grown. The overall length increased, the main grill grew, the wheel arches became more prominent. Most Mustang aficionados consider 1967 the best model year before its design features became too exaggerated.

This Ford Mustang is one of 44,000 convertibles sold that year by Ford. Equipped with the optional 289 ci V8, it started its life in California where the current owner purchased it more than 10 years ago. This Mustang had always been carefully maintained by its consecutive owners.

After he purchased it, the owner decided to offer this Mustang a new youth. The venerable cast-iron 289 gave way to an all-new alloy 302 ci from Ford Motorsport, which develops 350 bhp. Several mechanical components were also overhauled and replaced, including the exhaust system and the radiator. Suspensions and brakes were also overhauled.
